Professor John Brown OBE

We are shocked and very saddened to note the sudden death of our Patron – Professor John Brown OBE Astronomer Royal for Scotland.

John published around 300 astronomy research papers, won the 2012 Royal Astronomical Society Gold Medal, was a semi professional artist and magician. He co-authored “Oor Big Braw Cosmos” a cocktail of cosmic science, imagery and Scots poetry which was published earlier this year. John was a great supporter of Cosmos Planetarium and our plans for Aero Space Kinross.

He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family.
