The planetarium is capable of holding 35-40 primary school aged children plus supervising adults or 25 adults per session. Our standard planetarium presentations run for 45 / 60 minutes. Shorter sessions can be arranged to accommodate higher footfall at larger schools, science centres / festivals, museums and shopping centres.

**NEW FOR 2025! OUTDOOR PLANETARIUM!**

Our brand new outdoor planetarium is available (WEATHER DEPENDANT) throughout the warmer months and can be deployed at most outdoor events. We require 8 x 8m flat ground space – ideally on grass – and access to 2 power sockets (We can supply an outdoor generator for an additional cost of £50 per day).

The outdoor dome is slightly smaller at 6 x 6m and can hold a maximum of 20-25 guests per session. It is fully accessible with a wide doorway entrance.

We offer full or half day hires ONLY as this setup requires a minimum of 2 staff to deploy.

HALF DAY COST – Up to 3 hours in the dome: £495 +VAT

FULL DAY COST – Up to 5 hours in the dome: £945 +VAT

Children’s Parties

Space themed party visit: A party visit includes 1 hour in our amazing immersive planetarium for a maximum of 30 children (plus supervising adults) from only £245 excl. VAT

Parties can include space themed activities for a small additional cost per child. These include VR Headset experiences, dress-up space suits, rocket building/launching etc. These can be discussed at time of booking.

If you don’t have a hall big enough we can still do ‘in class’ astronomy presentations

We have a wide range of PowerPoint talks (list on request), videos and telescope demonstrations that can be tailored to your specific curricular needs with regards the age of the children and the content required. We strongly believe in promoting science and astronomy to all and will generally do these for free locally (expenses may be charged for greater distances).

Prices on request for science festivals, museums, corporate events, fairs, galas or any other private or publicly organised event where people are interested in learning about astronomy and the night sky.

Terms & Conditions

  • All children must be accompanied by at least one authorised adult who will be responsible for them at all times.
  • All prices quoted above are exclusive of VAT.
  • All prices above are inclusive of 75 miles of fuel expenses thereafter charged @ 45p per mile.
  • All cancellations must be notified at least 48 hours in advance or full payment will be required.
  • All activities of the company are covered by our comprehensive Public Liability insurance.
  • All of the equipment used by Cosmos Planetarium is fully insured against loss or damage.
  • All activities have been risk assessed and all safety precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of all concerned.
  • All appropriate emergency procedures are in place.
  • All equipment has been inspected and tested in accordance with UK legislative requirements.
